DESCRIPTION:This September\, the Dumbo bar The Rat will host the charity presentation of The Next Right Thing\, a pay-what-you-will benefit produced by Sah K. Brulé to raise funds for queer mental health care at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. With songs from Waitress\, Tick Tick Boom\, and a second act honoring Next to Normal’s contribution to mental health awareness\, this night is going to be full of talent\, meaning\, and a lot of heart. \nThe one-night-only event will take place during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. All profits from the evening will go directly to Callen-Lorde\, the New York-based health center serving the LGBTQ+ community. \nThe Next Right Thing features a cast of Luz\, Sah K Brulé\, James Dirck\, Alan Gonzalez\, Blaze Levario\, and Clover Adore\, with additional guest artists to be announced. \n“Mental health is a powerful necessity\, and access to treatment and care can feel so daunting for so many folks\, particularly in the queer community\, this is just one small way for us to be there for each other and other queer folks that will come after.” said director Blaze Levario \nAdmission is pay-what-you-will\, ensuring the event remains accessible to all audiences while directing every dollar raised toward queer mental health care.
